Fishing and Water Sports
World-Class Fishing and Family Fun
Our location above the river and near a large reservoir provides excellent fishing and water sport opportunities. Being near rivers, lakes and a reservoir means that we can offer a variety of fishing spots, seasons and techniques (see fishing rules at Fishing in South Dakota). Let us find the fish for you by scheduling a fishing expedition through Dakota Custom Hunt. We will get you where you need to go by providing local reports on where the fish are biting.
Our area is lucky to be home to many fishing competitions. There are yearly bass and walleye tournaments for the pros as well as competitions for amateurs. The Lewis and Clark Reservoir in nearby Yankton plays host to some of the best world-class fishing competitions in the nation. Even fly fishermen will find a place on the rivers in the area.
Bring your canoes and kayaks to explore the Missouri River and enjoy all it’s natural beauty. The National Park Service watches over the Missouri River from the The Cogan House upstream. This area is designated a National Scenic River and is unmatched in natural beauty. Transportation for you and your canoes or kayaks can be arranged.
